I thought about it...have access to deeply discounted copies ($85 academic licenses for Vista Home Premium)....passed the MS upgrade advisor tests (well, except for my sound card)... and then couldn't think of one good reason to go through the pain of a OS "upgrade". While booting from the CD works, I am not sure if it is possible to upgrade and keep the registry and all those fun settings intact. I have tried resolving the ME problems, but short of making an expensive call to Microsoft, or reinstalling, there is no point, plus the Upgrade Advisor found so many Programs and Hardware that will not work This might seem like silly questions, but I have wrestled with these questions for some time now.
